Companies move.
Their systems need to move with them.
Rexcelsior is where I bring decades of experience in compliance, strategy, governance and operations to companies navigating change.
Visit RexcelsiorOne idea led to another.
I'm Lisa K. King. I follow questions, build things, and occasionally discover that one idea has become several businesses, a book, and a farm.

A little more about me
Before the ideas became businesses
Before the businesses and projects, there were decades spent in financial services, executive leadership and boardrooms. My career has spanned compliance, strategy, governance and operations, from inside financial institutions to the regulator's side of the table, including a chapter as a CFPB examiner.
That experience still shapes how I look at almost everything I build today. But work isn't the whole story. I'm a wife, a mom, and Nani to eight grandkids. And of all the titles on this page, Nani is pretty hard to beat.
Different ideas, different lives
They didn't all start with a business plan.
Some started with a question.

Travel
This one started
with vacation weeks.
A family travel story that grew into a way to help other people enjoy the Mexico resort stays we know and love.
Visit Vidanta StaysA different kind of learning curve
We have 5.1 acres in Bowie County, Texas. It's becoming a regenerative farm project built around fruit, berries, vegetables, flowers, healthier soil, pollinators, rainwater and a few experiments that are still very much experiments.
The goal is to grow good things, learn as we go, and make the place useful to family and community. Right now, I'm trying very hard not to buy things before I know what the hell I'm doing.
More about what I'm learning
The list keeps changing
Writing Companies in Motion, making practical ideas into books and tools through Copper Oak, growing Rexcelsior, and figuring out what this land can become. I'm usually building one thing while asking a better question about the next.
That's what happens when you stay curious.
The short version
Because one idea led to another.
And then another. This is the easiest place to see what I'm building, exploring, learning and changing my mind about along the way. No grand master plan required. Just come see what I'm up to.
Still here? Good.
